The Fujica ST705 is a fully-manual single-lens reflex camera first produced in 1977, using the 42mm screw lens mount.
The ST705 has centre-weighted through-the-lens metering, activated by a half-press of the shutter button. Semi-unusually for an M42 camera, it is possible to meter with the lens' aperture wide open; Fuji lenses have a mechanical coupling between the lens and the camera body that permits this. There is a needle in the viewfinder that indicates over- and under-exposure.
The camera's cloth focal-plane shutter has an unusual top speed of 1/1500 sec, then 1/1000, then down to a second in one-stop decrements. The flash sync speed is 1/60.
- Fully manual camera
- Shutter speed can go to 1/1500 sec.
- M42 mount thread
- 2xLR44 for the light meter
What we think:
- Fujica is one of my most favourite SLR because of the quality from the lens and the higher shutter speed from the competitor.
- M42 mount is the easiest mount to find!
